I think it’s fun knowing that Abraham Lincoln was the first president to have his body embalmed and toured around the country and that the Statehouse was one of the stops! After learning about the history of the building & of Columbus, we went across the street to a sweet Happy Hour at Lexi’s on Third.Actors’ Theatre of Columbus The Brown Bag Deli This is a perfect romantic summer date!We first ate at The Brown Bag Deli, located in German Village and only a block away from Schiller Park. With this date, we realized that dating has no “time restrictions.” We watched the sunrise over Hoover Reservoir in Westerville, and had the whole reservoir wall to ourselves. After the sun rose over the water, we went to family-owned and operated The Best Breakfast, a delicious diner in Westerville.2.The Book Loft Cup O Joe This was one of our very first Dates and has been a reoccurring one for us.When I (Jess) first started dating Rob, we were broke college students.Going out and having fun together was our number one priority but we quickly realized that budgeting should be a close second.
Even if going to the Statehouse didn’t stimulate conversation with your date, the great food and people watching should do it! Westerville Mini Golf & Batting Cages Knight’s Ice Cream Who doesn’t like mini-golf?These performances are free to watch, but donations are much appreciated! The Actors’ Theatre will be performing at the Columbus Commons this summer too.Watching a Shakespeare play on the lawn of Schiller Park with the stars above you and your honey by your side is perfect summer romance. Volunteering @ Furniture Bank of Central Ohio Tommy’s Diner This date is easily one of my favorites.Working with my hands is one thing that I absolutely love to do, and FBCO needs people to do exactly that.We went to Mi Li Cafe, a delicious Vietnamese restaurant off Cleveland Avenue and 161, got sandwiches to go and drove down the road to Sharon Woods Metro Park.
